Show Report - Montvale - Sunday, November 17, 2013

We had four people for setup starting around 7:30-- Dave, Bill W, Mike M, and me (Phil B.). I believe we were up and running around 9:30 in the cafeteria. We had plenty of space in front of the layout and there was a constant crowd until around 2pm. Carl then arrived and then Bob Z , Warren, Dave E,and Frank came later. Originally we setup with DCC on one line and DC on other , but then we converted the DC to DCC as nobody had any DC engines to run (not sure about that). Bill brought a 4 foot module, which was a plus, making the layout slightly different and longer than usual. I don't believe any real problems other than voltage drop as discussed in email.

Carl had a long heritage grain car train (40 cars?) and Bob Z. had a nice coal drag with steam power about same length.

Tear down only took about an hour as there was plenty of help. I believe Dave has the DCC?

The show itself had only one or two vendors in the hall and maybe 5 in the cafeteria including Gary and Tom .The rest were in the gym. One vendor in the Gym was selling his N-scale because he was changing to HO. He had some interesting self done prototype graffiti cars. There was also a small HO layout in the Gym , but I don't know whose it was. Cafeteria had Lionel trains on tables running around (Noisy!!!) with occasional crashes.

Phil--
